Where has Lucian Armaros come from? None can really say. Some have heard Dalmasca; others Thavnair; others yet have heard that he is some kind of Garlean! Each time he brings a new story to bear, each more (un)believable than the last. Which is true? Which is false? Does it matter?What can be ascertained is that he came to Ul'dah nigh on two years past with one goal: become a star! And to this he set himself almost immediately on arrival. Dancing off street corners and seducing coin off frustrated suitors served as his chief way of making his way into Ul'dahn society whilst he amassed the wealth and influence necessary to enroll in the Coliseum under a reputable lanista. His fortunes changed when, one day, he presented himself to one of the foremost talent managers in the City of Commerce and shocked her with a display of beautifully-executed martial skill defending her life from an assassin. The potential of his talent was immediately apparent, garnering him a sponsorship on the spot.Lucian rose quickly in the ranks of the competitive scene until he plateaued at the mid-leagues. The viera seemed content with keeping his career to non-lethal duels or the killing of dangerous monsters for sport, rather than the matches to the death that are commonplace in the higher-stakes leagues of the Bloodsands, to some chagrin from his sponsor. His looks and theatrical charm, however, earned him a small legion of fans who made of his every appearance in the arena a raucous spectacle, enough to convince management that he served better as eye-candy for the crowds and for the dangling arms of whichever wealthy noble could afford his escort, rather than yet another grunt for the meat grinder.His career is behind him, now. He has left the Coliseum to dedicate himself to a burgeoning adventurer's career, shadowed by rumours of affiliation with the Lemures, the organization (some say gang) of expatriate Garleans in Ul'dah. The mystery of this has only added to his legend, of course, and the fans continue to purchase the gossip periodicals, eager for every small morsel of information on what passes for the man's public living.
